Tamiya Polishing Compound - Finish

Tamiya 87070 Finish Polishing Compound is the final step in Tamiya’s 3-stage polishing system, designed to deliver a high-gloss, near-mirror surface finish on model parts. It uses ultra-fine abrasive particles that remove the smallest micro-scratches left after Fine (87069), resulting in a smooth, reflective surface suitable for display-quality builds.

It is especially effective on clear plastic parts, painted surfaces, resin, and metal, helping enhance clarity and depth without damaging the finish. The compound is water-based, making it easy to apply and clean off with a damp cloth once polishing is complete.

Typically used after Coarse (87068) and Fine (87069), it provides the final polishing pass, transforming a well-prepared surface into a glossy, professional-grade finish. Each tube contains 22 ml, and only a very small amount is needed per application due to its high polishing efficiency.

87070 is the finishing polish that gives the final mirror shine and removes the last traces of haze or micro-scratches.
