HD Diorama Texture N°9 Smooth Fine Grey Sand is a premium fine grey sand developed to create exceptionally realistic, scale-appropriate terrain with a smooth and uniform surface texture. Its carefully selected particle size produces a refined finish that is ideal for roads, compacted ground, urban environments, and other surfaces requiring subtle texture.

Like a grey primer, its neutral colour allows you to immediately visualize the final surface structure once fixed, eliminating the guesswork often associated with traditional white sands and plaster-based materials. The texture can be painted in any desired shade while preserving its realistic appearance and fine detail.

This versatile material can be used on its own or mixed with coarser VMS textures to introduce additional variation and authenticity. When fixed using VMS Sand & Ballast Freeze, it also creates a highly convincing representation of asphalt and paved surfaces.

Fix the material using VMS Sand & Ballast Freeze for superior capillary action, or apply it over VMS PVA Glue for traditional groundwork techniques.

Recommended techniques: capillary action with VMS Sand & Ballast Freeze, sprinkling over VMS PVA Glue.
