Spot-On Pigment No.17 is a dark iron-oxide pigment blend formulated to reproduce the appearance of aged, weathered rust. As old rust is naturally darker than fresh oxidation, this shade serves as the ideal foundation for creating realistic rust effects with convincing depth and tonal variation.

Perfect for mufflers, towing lugs, chains, steel cables, suspension components, springs, tracks, road wheels, OVM, as well as railway and cart details, this pigment is designed to form the base layer of a layered rust modulation process. Apply it first and build up the effect with lighter rust tones to achieve a highly authentic appearance.

For best results, apply over a black or dark metallic acrylic base to enhance depth and realism.

Recommended techniques: dusting, capillary action, weathering liquids, and weathering pastes.
