Spot-On Pigment No.18 is a medium iron-oxide pigment blend designed to represent rust in its intermediate stage, bridging the gap between dark, aged corrosion and fresh oxidation. Its balanced tone adds natural variation to rust effects and facilitates smooth transitions when building layered rust modulation.

Ideal for depicting gradual oxidation processes or rust surfaces that have not yet fully darkened or brightened, this versatile shade can be used both as a transitional layer and as a standalone rust effect. It is particularly effective on mufflers, tracks, suspension components, chains, steel cables, OVM, and other exposed metal surfaces.

When used on its own, best results are achieved over a black or dark metallic acrylic base, which enhances depth and produces a highly realistic oxidized finish.

Recommended techniques: dusting, capillary action, weathering liquids, and weathering pastes.
