Spot-On Pigment No.20 is the brightest iron-oxide shade in the Spot-On range, formulated to reproduce high-contrast fresh rust effects. If standard fresh rust tones appear too subdued, this vibrant pigment provides the extra intensity needed to highlight recent oxidation and create striking weathering effects.

Designed primarily as a highlighting colour, it is best applied sparingly by dry-brushing to accentuate fresh rust on mufflers, tracks, hull damage, OVM, and other exposed metal surfaces. It can also be layered over darker rust tones to create realistic depth and tonal variation within complex oxidation effects.

When used on its own, it performs best over steel-coloured acrylic bases for mufflers or directly onto painted surfaces to simulate fresh rust spots, scratches, and chipped paint. Use with restraint—the brightest iron oxides are often the most effective when applied subtly.

Recommended techniques: dry-brushing, selective highlighting, and layered rust modulation.
